Continuous output power?

In order for the device to provide continuous output power of 500W the motor would need to run at around 3750rpm. (Power of the electronic load = Xrpm/3000rpm *40V*10A). What is the purpose of the requirement for continuous output power of 500W when the specified speed limit of 2500rpm will not be exceeded at any point? Will our device be judged based on its ability to provide 500W continuously and how?

The output power will be measured and monitored under the test conditions. Test conditions may not reach a throughput of 500W, depending on the efficiency of the particular team’s design as well the efficiency of entire system. Test set-up will record the maximum input power and maximum output power. Teams will not be judged whether they can provide 500W continuously.
